i wouldn't bank on that - i've been told in all seriousness that "greek salad" is actually "Turkish Salad" but they "stole it from us"....!
Funny you should mention that Jono, this is one of the reasons why I put up the subject of Food for the group project. The politics of food is a fascinating subject. And yes, Greek salad is indeed of Turkish origin. Also known as šhopska, you'll find the same salad in every restaurant im the Balkans. Same for feta, halva, kebab, and lots of other things. The Greeks are in an appalling state of denial about it, and even go so far as to believe the come from the same stock as the likes of Plato. Hilarious!
